Tetrapanax papyrifer 'Rex'.
Tetrapanax papyrifera comes from Taiwan and is used to make the 'Chinese' Rice-Paper. The 'Rex' variety of this dramatic plant produces 1M wide leaves and makes this monster a must for the exotic garden. The deeply divided palmate leaves are dark green with powdery undersides. It may grow up to 3M tall if not cut down by frost, however, it readily produces suckers and will re-shoot from the ground.
