Hedychium coccineum 'Tara'.
The tall (5-7ft), sturdy pseudostems are clothed in glaucous, blue-green leaves.
From July to October, the plant produces 8inch tall spikes of fragrant, vivid orange flowers.
This variety is very hardy and forms substantial clumps which should be divided every three to four years.
